A gateway operates just like a telephone adaptor however it is usually larger and can service more than 1 or 2 phones. Just like the ATAs, gateways also come in a variety of combinations of FXS and FXO ports (FXS ports connect to phones & FXO ports connect to phone lines). The gateways can be integrated with a PABX or key telephone system.

Analogue gateways can connect to regular PSTN phone lines whilst digital gateways can connect to ISDN lines.

Available in the following configurations:

2 Ports FXS + 2 Ports FXO

3 Ports FXS + 1 Port FXO

The 4 port stand-alone VoIP Gateway carries voice over the IP network via the SIP industry standard call control protocol.

The gateway can be seamlessly integrated to an existing network by connecting to a phone set, PBX, key telephone system or PSTN line.

In addition, the in-built 4 ports switch supports comprehensive Internet gateway functions to accommodate other PCs or IP devices to share the same broadband stream. QoS function allows voice and data traffic to flow through where voice traffic is transmitted in the highest priority. With TOS bit enabled, it guarantees voice packets to have first priority to pass through a TOS enabled router.
